The current coat of arms of the Republic of Yemen was introduced in 1990. The national coat of arms shows a golden eagle over a green ribbon with the Arabic country name al-Jumhūriyya al-Yamaniyya  /الجمهورية اليمنية. The eagle's chest bears a heraldic shield depicting a gold wall with a coffee plant and the dam of Ma'rib . On the right and left there are golden flagpoles with the flag of Yemen .
