Windhof is a part of the municipality of Eckersdorf in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia .

geography

Approx. The Schwarze Bach rises 0.5 km east of the hamlet , a left tributary of the Feilbrunnenbach, which flows into the Seitenbach on the left. Immediately to the south-west is the forest area and the Hohenbuche hill. Municipal roads lead to Eschen to the B 22 (0.6 km northwest) and the B 22 crossing to Schanz (0.8 km east).

history

The place was originally called Wiedenthof and was z. B. mentioned in 1683 in a deed of purchase. The current place name is likely to have arisen through blurring. After the community edict, Windhof was assigned to the rural community of Eschen in 1811 . On May 1, 1978 this was incorporated into the municipality of Eckersdorf as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
