geography

history

1360 the place was first as Vorlauben documented, in 1398 as Vorlawbe , 1414 Vorlauben , 1421/24 Vorlawben , 1520 Vorlach , 1533 Vorlaub , until 1662 Vorlahm . The place name means "Before the deciduous forest", which is in line with the geographical features in the immediate vicinity (the Hohen-Buche forest , the Lindig corridor , the Eichberg , the Eschenbach , the village of Eschen ). Vorlahm is possibly a spin-off from nearby Lahm . According to oral tradition, Vorlahm is said to have consisted of a single farm with 700 days of labor for several centuries .

As a result of the municipal edict, Vorlahm was assigned to the tax district and the rural municipality of Busbach in 1811 , which was incorporated into the municipality of Eckersdorf on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
