We are tall is a song by the German pop singer Mark Forster . The track is the first single from his third studio album TAPE .

Creation and artwork

The song was written jointly by Mark Cwiertnia ( Mark Forster ), Robin Haefs , Ralf Christian Mayer , Daniel Nitt , Konstantin Scherer ( Djorkaeff ), Vincent Stein ( Beatzarre ) and Nico Wellenbrink ( Nico Santos ). The single was produced by Mark Cwiertnia, Ralf Christian Mayer and Daniel Nitt; Beatzarre and Djorkaeff stood by their side as additional co-producers. The recordings, mixing and mastering took place under the direction of Ralf Christian Mayer in Gismo7 in Motril ( Spain ). The arrangement and the programming were done by Daniel Nitt. The single was released under the music label Four Music and distributed by Aquarium Musikverlag / SonyATV , Budde Music and Edition Larrabeat Publishing / BMG Music Publishing . On the cover of the maxi single, only the song title can be seen in black letters in a white circle, in front of a background that changes from blue to purple to red.

Publication and promotion

The first publication of We are big done as a single download on April 1, 2016. The publication of a physical single was followed a week later on April 8, 2016 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The physical maxi single was released as a 2-track single and contains an additional remix version of Wir sind Groß: the so-called “Calyre Remix”.

In order to promote the song, there followed, among other things, live appearances at prime time during the Echo Awards 2016 , during the ESC countdown in 2016 , at Do you understand fun? in the first , in the Sat.1 show Luke! The music was by Mark Cwiertnia, Ralf Christian Mayer, Daniel Nitt, Konstantin Scherer, Vincent Stein and Nico Wellenbrink; the text was written by Cwiertnia, Robin Haefs, Scherer, Stein and Wellenbrink. Musically, the song moves in the area of pop music . The main vocals of the song come from Forster, in the background the voices of Daniel Nitt and Nico Santos can also be heard. Alex Grube ( electric guitars ) and Daniel Nitt ( acoustic guitar and keyboard ) were hired as instrumentalists .

For we have great published Forster two different music videos. First, a poetry video premiered on April 9, 2016. You can only see Forster, in front of a blue / red background, who sings the song and moves to it. During the entire video, short text passages and keywords , as you know it from typical poetry videos, are faded in. The total length of the video is 3:23 minutes.

A real music video was released on June 25, 2016. The video was shot in Los Angeles , among others , and premiered on YouTube . The daily routines of different people can be seen here, which end up in activities with friends and family (e.g. hikers, a mother with her child or lovers, etc.). The main focus in the video is on the daily routine of a young Asian woman. Her day begins with getting up and getting ready, she visits a laundry, does her shopping, visits a record store and meets up with her friend, later with other friends, and celebrates with them. In between, Forsters' daily routine can be seen again and again. This begins in the subway when he is on his way to the recording studio, where he can be seen afterwards. In the German airplay charts , the single reached the top position for a week . In Austria the single reached position 18 in 20 chart weeks and in Switzerland position 16 in also 20 chart weeks. Although the song did not make it to number one and sometimes not even in the top 10, it was still the most successful German-language song in the German single charts for a period of three weeks and the most successful German-language song in the Austrian hit parade for five weeks . In 2016, the single was the second most successful German contribution after Die immer laughs at position 21 in the German single annual charts, as well as at position 67 in Austria and at position 72 in Switzerland. Awards for music sales

In November 2016, Wir sind Groß in Germany was awarded a platinum record for over 400,000 units sold. It is Forster's fifth single that has achieved at least gold status. This was followed in 2017 by a gold record in Austria and platinum in Switzerland for over 15,000 and 30,000 units respectively.
