“I want to stay by your side.
Go through fire and all doubts.
With all the dreams and all the worries.
Today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

I want to be by your side
Forgive us all for mistakes.
With all the dreams and all the worries.
Today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. "

- Refrain, original excerpt

The lyrics to the day after tomorrow are written in German . The music and the text were written and composed jointly by Beatzarre, Jan Philipp Bednorz, Biztram, Djorkaeff, Mark Forster, Ralf Christian Mayer and Daniel Nitt. Musically, the song moves in the field of pop music , with references to the synth sound of the 1980s. The tempo is 92 beats per minute . The key is F sharp major . In terms of content, the day after tomorrow deals with a positive view of the future.

The song is based on an intro , two verses, a chorus and an outro . The song begins with the intro, which is simply composed of the line "Today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow". After no pause, the first verse follows, which is followed directly by the two-line pre-chorus before the actual refrain takes place. The same process is repeated with the second stanza. After the second chorus, the piece ends with the outro, which only consists of the same, repeating line, the intro.

Music video

To tomorrow two official music videos were released. First, a poetry video premiered on May 1, 2020 on YouTube . In the foreground, as is typically the case for poetry videos, it always shows the currently sung lines of song in various forms of representation and writing. The animations are mainly designed in the colors red, black and white. Forster himself only appears briefly as a pictogram face. The total length of the video is 2:48 minutes. The animation came from the work of Florian Tiphine. The regular music video finally celebrated its premiere on May 29, 2020. It shows Forster singing the song in different locations. You can see him on the one hand in front of a large LED wall, on the other hand in front of a row of spotlights , in a colorfully illuminated underground car park and on a runway at Hamburg Airport . The total length of the video is 2:45 minutes. As with various Forster videos, the director was Kim Frank . Both music videos together have over 3.5 million views on YouTube (as of June 2020).
