Wolnoje ( Russian Вольное , German Wollehlen ) is a small town in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the rural community of Krasnoyarskoye in Osjorsk Raion .

Geographical location

Wolnoye is located south of Osjorsk in the immediate vicinity of Meschduretschje and can be reached on an impassable road connection from the R 508 trunk road . There is no rail connection.

history

The former Wollehlen was administratively amalgamated with Auerfluss (today Russian: Meschduretschje). In 1907, Wollehlen had 63 inhabitants and belonged to the district of Darkehmen (1939–1945 district of Angerapp ) in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1945, Wollehlen came under Soviet administration and was named Wolnoje in 1946. Until 2009 the place was incorporated into the Lvovsky Soviet (Dorfsovjet Lwowskoje) and has since been a "settlement" (possjolok) within the Krasnoyarskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Krasnoyarskoje) in the Osjorsk district of the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast due to structural and administrative reform .

church

The predominantly Protestant population of Wollehlens was integrated into the parish Darkehmen (1938–1946 Angerapp , since 1946: Osjorsk) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Darkehmen in the church province East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergy were pastors Johannes Gemmel and Helmut Passauer .

During the time of the Soviet Union , all church life collapsed due to state prohibitions. It was not until the 1990s that new Protestant congregations formed in the Kaliningrad Oblast. Wolnoje belongs to the ecclesiastical region of the Salzburg Church in Gussew ( Gumbinnen ) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
