The World Grand Prix was a major tournament in darts and was organized for the 13th time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from October 4th to 10th, 2010 . The venue for the tenth time was the Citywest Hotel in Dublin .

The defending champion was Phil Taylor . The winner was James Wade , who won the tournament for the second time.

format

The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode in the 1st round was a best of 3 sets . In the final a best of 11 sets . Each leg was played in 501 double-in-double-out mode.

Prize money

As in the previous year, a total of £ 350,000 in prize money was distributed. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:

qualification

The following players were qualified for the World Grand Prix 2010:

  • The first 16 players of the Order of Merit , of which the first 8 were seeded
  • The first 12 players in the PDPA Players Championships Order of Merit who were not already eligible to participate via the Order of Merit
  • The 4 best-placed players in the PDPA Players Championships Order of Merit from Ireland and Northern Ireland who did not meet either of the above criteria and who had participated in at least six Players Championships tournaments

The TV broadcaster Sport1 broadcast the event in German-speaking countries . This can also be received in Austria via cable and satellite.

Internationally, all games were also transmitted directly to pdc.tv by the PDC.
