The World Grand Prix 2017 is a major tournament in darts and was organized for the 20th time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from October 1st to 7th . The venue for the 17th time was the Citywest Hotel in Dublin .

The tournament was won by Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney , who prevailed in the final with 5: 4 sets against Australian Simon Whitlock .

format

The tournament was played in the knockout system in sets , which in turn were divided into a best of five legs mode. The number of sets to be won increased per round. Game mode in the 1st round was a best of 3 sets . By the finale, the mode rose to best of 9 sets . Each leg was played in 501 double-in-double-out mode.

Prize money

As in the previous year, a total of £ 400,000 in prize money was distributed. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
