The Austrian Football Women's Championship 1982/83 was the eleventh championship in Austrian women's football after the 35-year break between 1938 and 1972. It consisted of the 14th edition of a top division ( women's Bundesliga ) and was first organized by the Austrian Football Association after this was taken over by the Vienna Football Association in recent years . The fourth edition of a second highest division ( women's league east ) was still organized by the Vienna Football Association.

Everyone played against everyone twice in a total of 18 rounds. A win was rewarded with two points, a draw with one point.
Season course
The league now consisted of ten clubs compared to the previous year, in which seven teams took part. Three new teams were represented. The USC Landhaus won its sixth title and the third in a row.

The SC Katzelsdorf and SV Baden were not represented, but the B-teams of the DFC Ostbahn XI and those from Vienna KSV vocational schools . The championship this season was the B-team from USC Landhaus , which is not entitled to move up to the top division, as the A-team is already represented there.
