The AMD Turion II from AMD is a multi-core processor for notebooks and a representative of the K10 generation . Turion II is the direct successor to the Turion X2 processors .

Technical

The Turion II processors are largely identical to the AMD Athlon II desktop processors . During production, however, the Turion II processors were optimized for particularly low power dissipation. While the first models (code letter M) were still limited to DDR2, newer versions (code letters P and N) came in May 2010 that can be operated with DDR3 memory.

An offshoot is the Turion II Neo , which is offered with 1.5 (K625), 1.7 GHz (K665) and 2.2 GHz. The mobile AMD Athlon II has a 64-bit limited FPU. In the upper performance segment, AMD has also introduced the “Phenom” brand as AMD Phenom II for notebook processors. This processor is available with higher clock speeds or more than two processor cores; The L3 cache that is common in the desktop area does not exist.
