Location of the municipality

Ablitas is a Spanish municipality in the Comunidad Foral de Navarra ; it has 2,481 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and is 11 km from Tudela and 104 km from Pamplona . Neighboring municipalities are: Tudela in the north, Ribaforada and Cortes in the northeast, Mallén , Borja and Tarazona in the south, Barillas and Cascante in the west.

About 4 km north of the village there is a small makeshift airfield which is occasionally used by the military for training transport aircraft operations on unpaved runways. The A400M Atlas was first seen here in the summer of 2013.

history

Ablitas has been attested within the Reconquista since the conquest of Tudela in 1119 .

Since 1999 there has been a community partnership with Geaune in France .
