Alexander Nikolayevich Putschkov

Alexander Nikolajewitsch Putschkow ( Russian Александр Николаевич Пучков , English transcription Aleksandr Nikolayevich Puchkov ; born March 25, 1957 in Ulyanovsk ) is a former Russian hurdler who competed for the Soviet Union.

Putschkow won the Junior European Athletics Championships in 1975 in Athens in the 110-meter hurdles . Over the same distance he was twice Soviet champion and won the bronze medal at the Universiade 1979 in Mexico City. He celebrated his most significant success at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow by winning the bronze medal behind Thomas Munkelt from the GDR and Cuban Alejandro Casañas . In addition, he won the gold medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1982 in Milan .

Alexander Putschkow is 1.90 m tall, weighed 88 kg when he was active and started for Burewestnik Leningrad .
