Javier Moracho

Javier Moracho Torrente (born August 18, 1957 in Monzón ) is a former Spanish hurdler whose special route was the 110-meter distance .

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1979 in Vienna, he was sixth in the 60 m hurdles . The following year he won bronze over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen and was seventh at the Olympic Games in Moscow .

In 1981 he won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble over 50 m hurdles, and at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 he reached the semi-finals. In 1983 he retired from the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in the semi-finals and won gold at the Mediterranean Games . In 1984 he was fourth over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles . A silver medal at the World Indoor Athletics Games in 1985 in Paris over 60 m hurdles was followed by gold in the same discipline at the 1986 European Indoor Championships in Madrid and sixth place each at the 1987 Indoor Athletics Championships in Indianapolis and at the 1988 European Indoor Championships in Budapest. In 1988 he won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships and was eliminated from the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Seoul .

Eight times he was the Spanish champion over 110 m hurdles outdoors (1978, 1980–1985, 1987) and over 50 or 60 m hurdles in the hall (1977–1981, 1984–1987).
