Petr Svoboda (athlete)

Petr Svoboda (born October 10, 1984 in Třebíč ) is a Czech hurdler whose special route is the 110-meter distance .

Life

At first he started as an all -rounder , but had to give up in the heptathlon of the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2005 in Madrid.

His first major success after specializing in hurdles was qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , where he reached the semi-finals. In the following year he won bronze in the 60 meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Turin and was sixth at the World Championships in Berlin

In 2010 he was fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and at the European Championships in Barcelona . At the 2011 European Indoor Championships in Paris, he won the gold medal in the 60-meter run.

In 2012 Svoboda married the pole vaulter Jiřina Ptáčníková . In 2017 he won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade .
