Location of the municipality

Álora is a municipality and a city in Andalusia in southern Spain . The city is located in the province of Málaga about 40 km northwest of Málaga .

The picturesque town, which has some Moorish ruins and hot sulfur springs, is located on a hill away from the Sierra de Tolox and overlooks a fertile valley where corn , date palms and sugar cane are grown. Brandy is distilled in Álora . Because of the pleasant climate, many residents of the nearby city spend their summer here.
