The  Rhineland Amateur Football League 1960/61  was the 9th season of the 1st Amateur League , the predecessor of  the Rhineland Association League, also known as the Rhineland League. This league represented the substructure of the II. Southwest Division until 1963 and was thus third-class in the overall league hierarchy. It was the 5th season in which the league played with two seasons East and West. The Rhineland champion was determined between the two relay winners.

Closing tables

Rhineland champions became the winner of the West Season, SV Ehrang , after defeating East Master VfB Wissen in a replay that ended 3-2 after extra time. The repetition had become necessary because the first championship game - also after extra time - had not brought a decision with 3: 3. The subsequent round of promotion to the II. Southwest Division ended Ehrang with the last place and remained in the amateur league.

TuS Diez , SpVgg Neuwied , SV Trier-West and Rheinland Mayen had to go down to the 2nd amateur league .

For the following season 1961/62 came as climbers from the 2nd amateur leagues:

The SC 07 Bad Neuenahr and the SC Sinzig switched to the west season for the next season.

The SC Oberlahnstein and the FC Urbar switched to the east season next season.
