Andreas Karasiak

Andreas Karasiak (* 1968 ) is a German classical tenor in opera and concert. Since 2007 he has been professor of singing at the Mainz University of Music .

Life

Andreas Karasiak studied singing at the Mainz University of Music with Claudia Eder . He also studied baroque music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel with René Jacobs .

From 1999 he sang Mozart roles such as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte , Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Nationaltheater Mannheim .

In the field of historical performance practice , he works with Gustav Leonhardt , Marcus Creed and Philippe Herreweghe . He is a soloist in the project of Ton Koopman and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir to record the complete works of Dieterich Buxtehude , which began in 2005. He also worked with conductors such as Helmuth Rilling and Sylvain Cambreling .

In 1998 and 2007 he was the tenor soloist in Hermann Suters Le Laudi with the Choir of St. Bonifatius , conducted by Gabriel Dessauer . In 2009 he appeared in a concert performance of Handel's Solomon with Andreas Scholl and the Schiersteiner Kantorei in the Marktkirche in Wiesbaden . On October 31, 2009 Dorothee Mields and Andreas Karasiak were the soloists in the world premiere of the Requiem Schwarz and it was light from Harald Weiss by the boys' choir Hannover with the NDR symphony orchestra . In 2010 he sang with the Wiesbadener Knabenchor in Handel's Messiah in the Marktkirche, alongside Elisabeth and Andreas Scholl. In 2011 he played the title role in Monteverdi's Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria at the Münster Opera House . Ursula Decker-Bönniger wrote: "Between cautious lamentation and dramatic outburst of anger, Andreas Karasiak vocalizes the different feelings of Odysseus". In 2012 he sang the role of Jonathan in Handel's Saul in the final concert of the Schiersteiner Kantorei for their 50th anniversary in Kloster Eberbach, with Christian Immler in the title role .

Karasiak recorded seldom performed operas, for example Handel's Lotario , Domenico Cimarosa's Gli Orazi ei Curiazi , Gluck's L'innocenza giustificata , Haydn's The Conflagration and Franz Schubert's Singspiele The Four- Year-Old Post and The Twin Brothers .

Karasiak teaches singing at the Mainz University of Music and in master classes.
