Arthur (born August 12, 1996 in Goiânia ; full name Arthur Henrique Ramos de Oliveira Melo ) is a Brazilian soccer player who has been under contract with the Italian first division club Juventus Turin since the 2020/21 season .

Club career

Arthur started playing football at Goiás EC in 2008 and stayed in his youth for two years. In 2010 he moved to Grêmio Porto Alegre's . On February 4, 2015 Arthur made his first team debut in the State Championship of Rio Grande do Sul . On December 11, 2016, he finally made his debut in the Série A in the 0-1 loss to Botafogo FR with a substitution in the 54th minute. In the 2017 season , Arthur earned a regular place on his team. After making four appearances in the national championship between February and March 2017 (no goal), he was used in 27 of a possible 38 games in Série A and scored his first professional goal on July 19 of that year against EC Vitória .

In the 2017 Copa Libertadores , Arthur was involved in all of his club's games from the third game of the group stage. He contributed with a template during the competition to the final victory of his team over the CA Lanús .

In July 2018 Arthur moved to the Spanish Primera División for FC Barcelona for a transfer fee of 31 million euros, which can increase by nine million euros . He signed a contract with a term until June 30, 2024, with a release clause of 400 million euros. In March 2018, FC Barcelona had already secured a corresponding purchase option.

For the 2020/21 season Arthur moved to the Italian Serie A at Juventus Turin for a transfer fee of 72 million euros, which can be increased by bonus payments by a maximum of 10 million euros . He signed a contract with a term until June 30, 2025. In return, Miralem Pjanić from Turin moved to FC Barcelona for a transfer fee of 60 million euros, which can be increased by a maximum of 5 million euros.

National team
