The Baltic soccer championship 1926/27 of the Baltic lawn and winter sports association won the VfB Königsberg in the final tournament with three points ahead of the Stettiner SC . This was the eighth overall win in the Baltic football championship for the Königsbergers, who thereby qualified for the German football championship 1925/26 . There Königsberg was eliminated again in the second round after a clear 4-0 away defeat against the eventual finalists Hertha BSC . The Stettiner SC was also qualified as a Baltic runner-up for the German football championship, but was also eliminated in the second round. Against Holstein Kiel it was a clear 2: 8 away defeat.

Mode and overview

The clubs in the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association were again divided into three circles in the 1925/26 season, the district champions and the runner-ups qualified for the final round of the Baltic football championship. In East Prussia there were several district classes for the last time, the winners of which determined the East Prussian football champions in a final round. For the coming season, an upper single-track league was introduced in this circle. So-called departments were introduced in Pomerania , in which several districts were combined.

District I East Prussia

In East Prussia they played again in several regional district leagues. The district winners and runners-up again qualified for the so-called district cups, in which the participants in the East Prussian final round were to be determined. The time lag should be noted here: The district cup winners of 1925 qualified for the East Prussian finals in 1926 (see: Baltic Football Championship 1924/25 ). This year's district cup winners, on the other hand, qualified together with the two best clubs from the Königsberg district for the new single-track East Prussian league introduced for the coming season . The second place in the district cups and the third place from Königsberg were allowed to take part in the promotion round to the East Prussian League for the coming season. The district leagues were then second-rate from the coming season.

Section 4 District VI / VII Western Pomerania / Gollnow

Section 4 consisted of the districts VI Vorpommern and VII Gollnow. District VI Western Pomerania was again divided into three sub-districts. Playoffs for the section championship are not recorded. No participant from this section was admitted to this year's Pomeranian finals by the district football committee.

District VI Western Pomerania

No sources have come down to us about the winners and table positions of the three individual sub-districts, MSV Mars Pasewalk is listed as the winner of District VI. It is not known whether a playoff against the winner of District VII for the section championship took place.

District VII Gollnow

According to a decision of the district football committee, no participant was admitted to the Pomeranian football final this season.

Final round of the Baltic football championship

The final round of the Baltic football championship was held in the 1925/26 season in a round-robin tournament. For the first time, the runners-up from the three districts were also qualified for the final round. This year's championship was decided on the last day of the game. The VfB Königsberg led by a single point in front of the Szczecin SC on the table before it came on April 18, 1926 the direct encounter in Szczecin. There Königsberg prevailed 1-0 and was able to celebrate the eighth championship title of the Baltic Association. For Stettin, however, the runner-up remained, as the local rival Titania Stettin surprisingly lost 4-1 to bottom of the table VfL Danzig in the parallel game .
