The Staatliche Studienakademie Dresden is one of the locations of the Berufsakademie Sachsen and, in addition to the TU Dresden , the HTW Dresden and other universities, represents another institution in the tertiary education sector of the state capital.
history
In 1950 a technician evening school was founded in Freital near Dresden, in 1953 the evening technical school for wood technology also in Freital and in 1954 the technical school for wood technology in Dresden, with later name change to the engineering school for wood technology Dresden.
In 1991 an application was submitted to the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art for a pilot project "Berufsakademie". The last time students were enrolled in the field of wood technology at the engineering school for wood technology Dresden and trained in a three-year technical college course. The last year of technicians was also enrolled in 1991 and completed their studies in July 1994. This was followed by the start of studies at the University of Cooperative Education in Dresden and 49 students began studying in the fields of banking, industry, and wood and plastics technology. The pilot project was ended in 1994 and officially introduced as a study regulation facility with the help of the Saxon Professional Academy Act.
In 2004 around 1100 students studied banking, trade, industry, tax advice / auditing, insurance, business informatics, information technology, media production, timber construction / structural elements and furniture / interior design at the Dresden University of Cooperative Education.
In 2006 the first bachelor's degree based on the Bologna model began. The courses in finance-banking, finance-insurance and business informatics as well as agricultural management, business administration-trade and business administration-industry have been successfully accredited by FIBAA and the courses in wood and wood-based materials technology, information technology and media informatics have been successfully accredited by ASIIN .
With the entry into force of the Saxon University of Cooperative Education Act of June 9, 2017, the Dresden University of Cooperative Education was transformed into the newly founded Saxony University of Cooperative Education as a state study academy .
Location
Since the move to the new campus in August 2011, the directorate, administration and all courses have been located on the former site of the Dresden Engineering College on Dürerstraße in the Johannstadt district . The site also houses part of the Evangelical University of Dresden as well as the shared building with library , wood workshop and canteen .
The former locations of the BA Dresden in Dresden- Trachenberge and in the Radeberger Vorstadt were completely dissolved.
