The Chrysler Series CD was a car of the luxury class , the Chrysler in Detroit produced in model years 1931 and 1932nd It was the brand's first eight-cylinder car and was also added to the eight-cylinder Imperial Series CG for the first time that year .

The car had a side-controlled 8-cylinder in-line engine with 3938 cm³ displacement, which delivered 80 bhp (59 kW) power. In January 1931, a second series with a larger engine replaced the cars produced since July 1930. This engine had a displacement of 4274 cc and developed 88 bhp (65 kW). The rear wheels were driven via a single-disc dry clutch and a four-speed gearbox with center shift. All four wheels were hydraulically braked as standard. Like the Imperial, the CD series was equipped with spoked wheels. The bodies had a V-shaped grille sloping backwards and were inspired by the Cord L-29 .

This model series was also built in the 1932 model year, which began in July 1931. A total of 14,355 copies were made. In January 1932 the series CP appeared as a successor .
