The Chrysler LeBaron GTS was one of the US automakers Chrysler 1984-1989 produced five-door hatchback sedan with front-wheel drive .

The LeBaron GTS was based on the extended platform of the Chrysler K-Cars and was the sister model of the Dodge Lancer , from which it differed only in details. A basic model and the LeBaron GTS LS with upscale equipment were offered (electronic dashboard , split rear seat bench, etc.). Chrysler's 2.2-liter in-line four-cylinder with or without turbocharger (100 or 148 hp) in combination with a five-speed sports transmission or three-speed automatic transmission provided the propulsion.

In 1986 the LS was renamed Premium, and Chrysler's new 2.5-liter four-cylinder was added to the range as an additional engine.

In 1987 and 1988 there were only minor changes to the equipment.

For model year 1989, the car lost the GTS in its name, it was simply called LeBaron. A 152 hp 2.5-liter turbo engine and a 177 hp version of the 2.2-liter turbo were new.

Production of the LeBaron (GTS) ran out in the summer of 1989; up to then about 193,000 pieces had been produced.
