The sodium is a fuel cell vehicle from Chrysler , which at the Electric Transportation Industry Conference in on 12 December 2001 Sacramento was presented. The technical basis is a Chrysler Town & Country (type RS), known in Europe as Chrysler Voyager (type RG).

The fuel is the salt sodium borohydride (NaBH 4 ), from which hydrogen is obtained with the help of a catalyst to operate the fuel cell. This concept enables a range of 500 km.

In a reformer, the sodium borohydride is converted into sodium tetraborate Na 4 B 2 O 7 and hydrogen. The converted energy is temporarily stored in a 55 kW lithium-ion battery and the wheels are driven by a 35 kW alternating current motor.

Since there is no carbon in the fuel, no carbon dioxide CO 2 is produced when the system is operated .
