The Chrysler Series 50 was a car of the lower middle class , the Chrysler in Detroit produced in model year 1927th It replaced the F-58 model .
The car had a side-controlled four-cylinder in-line engine, like its predecessor, but with the displacement reduced to 2,790 cm³, which remained unchanged at 38 bhp (28 kW). The rear wheels were driven via a single-disc dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox with center shift. Only the rear wheels were fitted with cable-operated brakes as standard; Brakes for all four wheels with hydraulic actuation were available at an additional cost. Seven different bodies were offered, which looked similar to those of the previous model (only the chassis had been shortened by 3 "(= 76 mm)).
In 1928 the model was called Chrysler Series 52 , without any major changes. The engine output increased to 45 bhp (33 kW).
From the series 50 82 412 units were built, the Series 52 is built 76,857 times. In the 1929 model year, Chrysler stopped producing four-cylinder models. The construction inherited the newly founded subsidiary Plymouth , which brought out the car as the Q model.
