Cimowo ( German Zymowo , 1929–1945 Winterau ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community Mikołajki (Nikolaiken) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).
Geographical location
Cimowo is located in the heart of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 15 kilometers southeast of the district town of Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).
history
The small town called Zimowa after 1785, Zymowa around 1818, Szymowo after 1871, Zimowo after 1898 and Zymowo until 1929 was founded in 1762. As a manor village, it was a residential area in the municipality of Schaden ( Stare Sady in Polish ) in the Sensburg district in the Prussian province of East Prussia until 1945 . In 1785 Zimowa was mentioned as an inheritance with three fireplaces. The number of inhabitants is 11 in 1818, 3 in 1839, 41 in 1867, just like in 1905. On June 30, 1929, Zymowo was renamed Winterau .
As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name Cimowo . Today it is a locality within the urban and rural municipality Mikołajki (Nikolaiken) in powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945 Zymowo resp. Winterau parish in the Protestant parish church Nikolaiken in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Sensburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Cimowo also belongs to the Protestant parish church in Mikołajki , which is now assigned to the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , and also to the Catholic parish Mikołajki within the Ełk diocese of the Polish Catholic Church .

Cimowo is located north of the Polish state road 16 (former German Reichsstraße 127 ) and can be reached from her via Prawdowo (Prawdowen , 1929–1945 Wahrendorf) on a side road to Faszcze (Faszen , 1938–1945 Fasten) . There is no rail link.
