history

Today's Grabek colony originally only consisted of a large courtyard as Neuhof Grabowken . Until 1945 it was a place to live in the Grabowken community ( Grabówka in Polish ) and thus a small town in the Sensburg district in the Gumbinnen district (from 1905: Allenstein district ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

When the parent community Grabowken was renamed "Buchenhagen" on August 26, 1929, Neuhof Grabowken was also given the name "Neuhof-Buchenhagen". In 1945 the city came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland . Since then he has had the Polish name form "Grabek" and is a place within the urban and rural community Mikołajki (Nikolaiken) in Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Neuhof-Buchenhagen was parish before 1945 in the Protestant Church of Schimonken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Sensburg in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Grabek belongs to the Evangelical Parish Mikołajki in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and to the Catholic Parish Woźnice in the Diocese of Ełk within the Polish Catholic Church .
