Claus-Robert Kruse

Claus-Robert Kruse (* 1948 in Horst , Holstein ) is a German musician , arranger , composer and music producer .

biography

Kruse received his first piano lessons at the age of nine. At the age of 14 he founded the band "Cavern Cats" and performed in clubs in northern Germany, including a. Star Club , Top Ten and Gruenspan . In 1966 he switched to the Harburg soul band "Cops & Robbers", with which he won the last "legendary" Star Club competition in 1967.

In 1968 he graduated from high school in Hamburg . In 1970 he joined the band “ Wonderland ” for Les Humphries , where he met Achim Reichel , Frank Dostal and Dicky Tarrach . With this move to the professional camp he succeeded in entering the Hamburg studio scene and from then on he distinguished himself as a musician, arranger, composer and producer. In 1972 “Wonderland” dissolved and Kruse began studying musicology, music theory and composition at the University of Hamburg with Jürgen Jürgens and at the Heinrich Schenker Academy in Hamburg with Felix-Eberhard von Cube .

In 1974 Kruse founded together with Peter Weihe , Lonzo Westphal , Peter Franken, Lemmy Lembrecht and Rolf Köhler the jazz rock formation "To Be", which was later praised by music experts as "The surprise of the German rock scene" at the 1978 Brain Festival in Essen .

In 1975 Kruse began studying piano at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater" in Hamburg as a student of Gernot Kahl , which he successfully completed in 1978.

After completing his studies, Kruse left "To Be" and founded the jazz rock band "Kangaroo" together with Anselm Kluge and Frank Oberpichler. a. and Udo Dahmen , Herb Geller , Peter Weihe and Olaf Gustafson played. In 1982 Kruse was a lecturer for two semesters at the University of Music in Hamburg as part of the "popular music model experiment".

In 1984 Kruse joined the re-formation of the German rock band " Randy Pie ", with whom he recorded an album ("Magic Ferry"). After the band broke up in 1986, Kruse devoted himself exclusively to studio productions.

From 1990 Kruse produced various pop and dance projects under the pseudonym Bob Cruise , including a. with the DJs Stefan Gruenwald ( SM-Trax ), Jerry Ropero , Mirko von Schlieffen ( Schiller ), Michael Simon ( Scooter ) and Michi Lange . Claus-Robert Kruse lives in Hamburg.
