Cambridge University colleges
The University of Cambridge currently has 31 colleges , three of which accept women only (Murray Edwards, Newnham, and Lucy Cavendish). The other 28 are mixed. Magdalene College, the last college for men, opened its doors to female students in 1988. Although some colleges are famous in a certain area, such as Churchill College in Science and Technology , they all admit students in every discipline.

There are also theological colleges in Cambridge (e.g. Westminster College and Ridley Hall ), which are usually affiliated with the university through the Cambridge Theological Federation .
Some colleges that no longer exist today can be added to this list, including:
- King's Hall , founded in 1317;
- Gonville Hall , founded in 1348, became Gonville and Caius in 1557 ;
- Michaelhouse , merged with King's Hall under King Henry VIII to form Trinity College in 1546 .
