final

As in the previous year, HC Pustertal and Ritten Sport faced each other in the final. While Ritten Sport was about to defend its title, HC Pustertal was able to secure a trophy for the first time with a win. Like the day before, HC Pustertal had to compete without the injured goalkeeper Tommi Nikkilä and attacker Thomas Erlacher . In addition to the injured Dan Tudin and Fritz Ploner , the suspended Luca Ansoldi was also missing from Ritten Sport . In front of a total of 3,150 spectators - including around 1,500 from the Pustertal - HC Pustertal prevailed 6: 1. In the fifth minute of play, Joe Cullen opened the scoring for the league leaders before Kevin Baker scored the equalizer a little later. In the second part of the game, the "wolves" pulled away: A double strike within 14 seconds by Rob Sirianni and Joe Cullen brought them to the winning road. Towards the middle of the match, top scorer Rob Sirianni increased again to 4: 1. Max Oberrauch scored eight minutes before the final siren , before Nate DiCasmirro sealed the 6-1 final score exactly one minute before the end. Thus, the HC Pustertal won a title for the first time in the club's history. After the end of the game, Mikko Strömberg was recognized as the best goalkeeper and Joe Cullen on the part of HC Pustertal and Lorenz Daccordo on the part of Ritten Sport as the best field player on their team. Rob Sirianni received the "Most Valuable Player" trophy of the Italian Cup finals.
