Cosio di Arroscia (in Ligurian : Cüxe ) is a northern Italian municipality with 187 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia .
geography
Cosio di Arroscia is located in the upper part of the Valle Arroscia , less than 20 kilometers from the French border. The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Alta Valle Arroscia and is about 36 kilometers from the provincial capital Imperia , with which it is connected via the Strada Statale 28 . Cosio di Arroscia is located in the Ligurian Alps about 720 meters above sea level .

history
On July 28, 1957, in the back room of a bar in Cosio di Arroscia, a group of artists and writers founded the radical left-wing cultural movement of the Situationist International . The founding members included Guy Debord , Giuseppe Pinot-Gallizio , Asger Jorn and the local Piero Simondo .
