Courtney Upshaw (* 13 December 1989 in Eufaula , Alabama ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of Outside Linbeackers . He is currently a free agent . He previously played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League (NFL).
Early years
Upshaw went to high school in his hometown of Eufaula, Alabama. He played American football on the defensive end . Furthermore, he also ran on as a tight end for high school. Upshaw went to the University of Alabama . For the college football team, he scored 141 tackles and 17.5 sacks .
NFL
Baltimore Ravens
Upshaw was selected in the 2012 NFL Draft in the second round in 35th place by the Baltimore Ravens , with whom he signed a four-year contract. Already in his first game against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 10, 2012 he managed his first (half) sack. The Ravens made it into Super Bowl XLVII in the same season , which was also won 34:31 against the San Francisco 49ers . Upshaw managed to force a fumble in the game against LaMichael James , the running back of the 49ers , which was also secured by the Ravens. In his four years with the Ravens, he didn't miss a single game of the season, he scored a total of 183 tackles and 5.0 sacks.
Atlanta Falcons
On March 25, 2016 Upshaw signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons , with whom he reached the Super Bowl LI , which was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 . On March 9, 2017, his contract with the Falcons was extended.
New York Jets
On June 14, 2018, the New York Jets signed him. However, before the 2018 season , they released him again on July 28, 2018.
