Cristian George Ganea (born May 24, 1992 in Bistrița ) is a Romanian football player .

Career

society

Ganea joined the youth of CD Baskonia in 2005 . In 2008 he moved to the Indartsu Club . In 2010 he joined the RCD Mallorca . In 2011 he moved to CD Santanyí in the Tercera División .

In January 2013 he moved to Romania for the second division club FCM Târgu Mureş . He made his Liga II debut in March 2013 when he came on as a substitute for Cristian Cristea on matchday 16 of the 2012/13 season against Damila Măciuca at half-time . He scored his first two goals for the club in June 2013 in a 4-2 loss to Corona Brașov . For the 2013/14 season Ganea moved to CS Universitatea Craiova . For Craiova he completed 29 games in League II that season, in which he was able to score five goals. At the end of the season he rose to League 1 with the club .

He then joined the second division AFC Săgeata Năvodari in the summer of 2014 . In January 2015 he moved to the first division club FC Brașov . He played his first game in the Romanian top division in February 2015 when he was brought into play on the 18th matchday of the 2014/15 season against Petrolul Ploieşti in the 68th minute for Damir Zlomislić . He scored his first goal for Brașov the following day in a 1-1 draw against Astra Giurgiu . With the club he had to relegate from League 1 at the end of the season.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the first division club FC Viitorul Constanța . In his three years at Viitorul, Ganea completed 94 first division games in which he was able to score eight goals. In the 2016/17 season he was champion with the club.

He returned to Spain for the 2018/19 season and moved to Athletic Bilbao .

National team

Ganea was part of the Romanian national team for the first time against Poland in June 2017 . He made his debut for this in the same month when he was in the starting line-up in a friendly against Chile and was replaced by Bogdan Țîru in the 70th minute .
