The leagues Competition German Team Championships Swimming short DMS , the women was in 2017 held in February. The SV Würzburg 05 sat in the first Bundesliga and was by German team champion.
1st National League
The SV Würzburg 05 secured in Essen sports pool at the tower box the championship and ended the 2008 lasting until 2016 winning streak of the SG Essen . SG Stadtwerke München and SG Bayer were relegated to the subordinate 2nd Bundesliga the following season , while the water sports fans of 1898 Hanover and Potsdamer SV were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga .
Leonie Antonia Beck from the new champion from Würzburg ensured the best individual performance of the championship with her 885 points over 400 m freestyle .

In the competition of the 1st Bundesliga, in which 12 teams took part, the complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane on two consecutive days in three sections. The German team champion was the team with the highest total number of points (calculated using the FINA point table). The last two teams in the 1st Bundesliga (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. A swimmer was only allowed to start in five competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.

The two teams with the best points from the 2nd Bundesliga and thus promoted to the 1st Bundesliga came from the North Season and were the water sports fans of 1898 Hannover and Potsdamer SV .

The 2. Bundesliga competition was designed for 12 teams each in the North, West and South leagues. The complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane in two sections on one day. The two teams with the best points (calculated on the basis of the FINA point table) in the 2nd Bundesliga (overall rating) were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. The last two teams placed in each season (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the highest national league. If more teams relegated from the 1st Bundesliga to a relay of the 2nd Bundesliga than were promoted from this to the 1st Bundesliga, so many teams from the relevant relay had to relegate that 12 teams belonged to each relay. A swimmer was only allowed to start in four competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.
North season
The competition took place on February 4, 2017 Stadionbad of Hanover instead.
Isabel Marie Gose from Potsdam achieved the best individual performance in the 2. Bundesliga North with 794 points over 400 m freestyle .

From February 4th to 19th, 2017, the competitions were held at the state level, where the promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga were determined.

The two teams with the best points (calculated using the FINA point table) in each region (north, west and south) were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. If more teams from a season of the 2nd Bundesliga were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga than were relegated to it, so many next-placed teams from the associated regional association region were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga that this season again included 12 teams. A swimmer was only allowed to start in four competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.
