The league competition German Swimming Team Championships , DMS for short , for women was held in January and February 2018 . The SV Würzburg 05 successfully defended his title from last year.
1st National League
The SV Würzburg 05 defended in Essen sports pool at the tower box his title from last year successfully. The following season the SV Halle and after a year the water sports fans of 1898 Hanover relegated to the subordinate 2nd Bundesliga , in return SSG Leipzig and the previous year's relegated SG Stadtwerke München were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga .
Sarah Köhler from Frankfurt ensured the best individual performance of the championship with 917 points over 400 m freestyle .
mode
In the competition of the 1st Bundesliga, in which 12 teams took part, the complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane on two consecutive days in three sections. The German team champion was the team with the highest total number of points (calculated using the FINA point table). The last two teams in the 1st Bundesliga (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. A swimmer was only allowed to start in five competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.

The two teams with the best points from the 2nd Bundesliga and thus promoted to the 1st Bundesliga came from the South Season and were SSG Leipzig and SG Stadtwerke München .

The 2. Bundesliga competition was designed for 12 teams each in the North, West and South leagues. The complete Olympic program was swum on a 25-meter lane in two sections on one day. The two teams with the best points (calculated on the basis of the FINA point table) in the 2nd Bundesliga (overall rating) were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. The last two teams placed in each season (places 11 and 12) were relegated to the highest national league. If more teams relegated from the 1st Bundesliga to a relay of the 2nd Bundesliga than were promoted from this to the 1st Bundesliga, so many teams from the relevant relay had to relegate that 12 teams belonged to each relay. A swimmer was only allowed to start in four competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.
North season
The competition took place on February 3, 2018 in Hamburg-Dulsberg in the local swimming pool of the state performance center.
Josephine Tesch from Berlin ensured the best individual performance of the 2nd Bundesliga North with 800 points over 800 m freestyle .

From January 28 to February 25, 2018, the competitions were held at the state level, where the promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga were determined.

The national competitions were held on a 25-meter lane in one day. The entire Olympic program was swum in two sections. The two teams with the best points (calculated using the FINA point table) in each region (north, west and south) were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. If more teams from a season of the 2nd Bundesliga were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga than were relegated to it, so many next-placed teams from the associated regional association region were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga that this season again included 12 teams. A swimmer was only allowed to start in four competitions, whereby a swim course could only be repeated in the event of a subsequent swim. The start in the post-swim counted towards the number of starts of the swimmer.
