action
The film is set in Düsseldorf on June 16, 1987. It begins with a sex scene in a room on the 6th floor of the Nikko Hotel. He is a probationary, wanted felon, she is Jutta Ehser, wife of the branch manager of the "Credit Bank" opposite the hotel. Exactly this bank is attacked shortly afterwards by Probek's accomplices Junghein and Britz. While Britz expects a quick bank robbery, Junghein is privy to Probek's plans. They want to extort three million DM ransom with the seven hostages . The task force, anonymously informed by Probek, is headed by Voss, who caught Junghein during his last bank robbery in Cologne . Junghein reveals itself to Voss and thus gives Voss a decisive advantage in further investigations.
Probek can spectacularly prevent bug bug attacks and anesthetic gas attack. After these setbacks, Voss thought that Junghein and Britz would be supported by a third man outside the bank. He quickly came up with Probek's name, since Probek and Junghein had already organized a bank robbery in Frankfurt . Junghein was caught at that time and revealed Probek's name during an interrogation.
The ransom demanded has now arrived. Jutta is supposed to pick it up and, according to Probek's plans, reload it into a car parked nearby, where Probek joins her. But Jutta has her own plans. Since her husband found out about her affair with Probek, she sees him as a potential threat to their future together with Probek and wants to force him to shoot her husband. When she leaves the hotel, she can shake off her pursuers and transfer the money unnoticed.
The hotel has since been evicted, so that Probek can target the group leaving the bank from the swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel. When attempting to shoot Ehser, Probek fatally injured Junghein, and an advancing special squad found it difficult to shoot Probek, who then threw himself to his death. Britz is led away in handcuffs.
In the last scene you can see the Ehser couple on the roadside: They force Jutta to continue the marriage that had actually failed, otherwise he would hand her over to the police. After she showed him the three million marks in his trunk, he sat down with her in the ditch with two beers. From a passing car you call to them "Are you okay?" And Mr. Ehser happily replies with "Yes!"
