The Sopranos / Music
The music from The Sopranos , an American television series , was selected by David Chase , the series' creator, together with music producer Martin Bruestle and music editor Kathryn Dayak, with Steven Van Zandt assisting him in some cases . Stylistically, the music spectrum of the series ranges from mainstream pop to oldies and classic rock to jazz, soul and hip-hop.
Opening credits
The opening credits of each episode show Tony Soprano ( James Gandolfini ) driving from New York to New Jersey and ending with his arrival at his family home in North Caldwell . The song Woke Up This Morning by the British music group Alabama 3 can be heard as background music in the Chosen One Remix.
Credits
A song can be heard in the credits of almost every episode, but it is not used in the previous episodes. In the tenth episode of the first season A Hit is a Hit, however, the song by the fictional band Defiler is used, which can already be heard during the course of the episode. In the credits of the three episodes Bella Italia , Whitecaps and Der Himmel über Paris , several songs can be heard at once, while in the two episodes Giving Makes Joy and The Sopranos Strike Back no music at all is used.

The music was replaced for licensing reasons and is identical for all European synchronizations. The unchanged original pieces of music are included on the English 5.1 soundtrack of the European DVD editions (but not in the 4: 3 version of the first season, which only contains the modified soundtracks).
