Dominik Woerner

Dominik Wörner (* 1970 in Grünstadt ) is a German singer ( bass baritone ) and church musician .

biography

Dominik Wörner studied church music (A-exam) , singing (soloist class), organ (soloist class) and musicology at the music academies in Stuttgart , Friborg, Bern and Zurich . His main teacher of singing was Jakob Stämpfli . He graduated from Irwin Gage's song class with honors.

In 2002 he won the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig for singing and a special prize from the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra. He now makes music with conductors such as Masaaki Suzuki and the Bach Collegium Japan , Sigiswald Kuijken , Philippe Herreweghe and the Collegium Vocale Gent , Manfred Cordes and the Weser-Renaissance Bremen or Christophe Coin . He has a particular passion for song singing. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Kirchheim concert winter in his Palatinate homeland.
