Donald McMurchie

Donald McMurchie (born October 2, 1896 in Clay County , South Dakota , †  November 20, 1981 in Sioux Falls , South Dakota) was an American politician . Between 1937 and 1941 he was lieutenant governor of the state of South Dakota.

Nothing is known about Donald McMurchie's youth and schooling. There is also no information about his career outside of politics. He lived in South Dakota and was a member of the Republican Party . In 1936 he was elected lieutenant governor of South Dakota alongside Leslie Jensen . He held this office after a re-election between 1937 and 1941. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . Since 1939 he served under the new Governor Harlan J. Bushfield . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died on November 20, 1981 in Sioux Falls.
