In the 14th century the church in Unterschöbling was first mentioned as a chapel , which was enlarged or rebuilt in the following centuries. At the beginning of the 16th century the late Gothic winged altar was built , and in 1623 a new pulpit. In 1644 the old church tower was torn down and rebuilt. The church received a separate bell house in 1791. The tower and the church porch were renovated. In 1884 the west and north sides of the church received flat arch windows. Two old pointed arch windows can still be seen in the old part of the church on the east side.

When a second gallery was built in the 18th and 19th centuries, ceiling beams were sawed out, which weakened the building's statics. For this reason, two tie rods were produced in spring 2006 and inserted from the east wall of the church to stabilize the roof structure and walls.

Since the completion of the restoration in April 2007, the church has been called "Andreaskirche".
