The East Boston Expressway is a designated freeway in the Boston borough of East Boston in the state of Massachusetts in the United States . The 1.2 mi (1.9 km) long route leads Massachusetts Route 1A through the Sumner and Callahan Tunnels to the Massachusetts Turnpike at Logan International Airport . The East Boston Expressway is the oldest freeway in Boston.
