Weinburg is a municipality with 1,395 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the district of Sankt Pölten-Land in Lower Austria .
geography
Weinburg is located in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria . The area of the municipality covers 10.36 km². 32.88% of the area is forested.
The cadastral communities are Dietmannsdorf, Eck, Edlitz, Engelsdorf, Grub, Klangen, Luberg, Mühlhofen, Oed, Waasen and Weinburg. The Dürnerhof cadastral community is not a separate place.

history
In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province . The place was mentioned for the first time in 1283, and Waasen Castle was inhabited as early as 1209.
In 1912 the Teich brothers bought an old mill to set up a foil rolling mill, today's Teich GmbH.

Mayor of the municipality is Peter Kalteis. After the 2020 municipal council elections , there will be 19 seats in the municipal council as follows: ÖVP 7, SPÖ 11, FPÖ 1.

In 2001 there were 29 non-agricultural workplaces, and according to the 1999 survey there were 35 agricultural and forestry businesses. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in employment in the place of residence was 633. In 2001, the employment rate was 48.86%.
