Statzendorf is a municipality with 1443 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the district of Sankt Pölten-Land in Lower Austria .

geography

Statzendorf is located in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the municipality covers 12.44 square kilometers. 12.7 percent of the area is forested.

Neighboring communities

Obritzberg-Rust to the south and west , Wölbling to the west, Paudorf ( Krems-Land district ) to the north, Nussdorf ob der Traisen to the north- east, Inzersdorf-Getzersdorf to the east and the municipality of Herzogenburg .

history

In Statzendorf there are archaeological sites from the Younger Stone Age and a burial ground from the Hallstatt period . In 1891 the situla of paddles (situla = Celtic wine bucket; here from the early phase of the La Tène culture , 475 - 425 BC) was found, which is now exhibited in the Natural History Museum in Vienna. A grave field with 14 body burials from the early La Tène period was uncovered on a ridge by employees of the Natural History Museum and Benedictines of the Göttweig Abbey . The Situla said derived from the grave 1, in addition also still a bronze ladle with Omphalos -verzierter trowel and long stem with rolled-up at the end, wave pattern decorated handle. Other grave goods include parts of fibulae , some with bronze chains and animal heads, a belt hook, some turntable clay vessels as well as the remains of a sword scabbard , four lance heads and two arrow heads on weapons . The weapon remains are from grave 2, a sword warrior grave. These objects are also exhibited in the Natural History Museum.

In the early modern period, Statzendorf was a sovereign fiefdom that was given to Bernhard Jörger at the end of the 16th century , who transferred it to his brother Helmhard Jörger zu Walpersdorf in 1592. The independent parish was established in 1784 and is incorporated into the Herzogenburg Abbey. Regional court, local authority, land authority and conscription authority went to the rule of Walpersdorf in 1836; today's parish was founded around 1850.

In 2001 there were 48 non-agricultural workplaces, agricultural and forestry operations 54 according to the 1999 survey. According to the 2001 census, the number of people in work in the place of residence was 649. In 2001, the activity rate was 46.4 percent.

In addition to the Hauer company (front loader construction) and Tischlerei Walter GmbH, the Dockner printing company, the Maier vehicle workshop and a few other businesses are also based in the municipality of Statzendorf.

Wind energy generation

"Hoher Kölbling" wind farm

Since summer 2006, 13 Enercon E70s, each with an output of 2000 kW, have been generating renewable energy. These are divided into 3 wind farms:

  • Schauerberg wind farm with 2 turbines (municipality of Statzendorf)
  • Hoher Kölbling wind farm with 6 turbines (3 each in the communities of Statzendorf and Obritzberg-Rust)
  • Kleinhain wind farm (5 turbines, municipality of Obritzberg-Rust).

The average annual generation of all 13 systems supplies around 13,000 households with electricity.

The Fladnitztal-Radweg leads as a circular route through the communities of Obritzberg-Rust , Statzendorf, Wölbling and Karlstetten and is manageable even for inexperienced cyclists.
