The Felbermayr group is an international construction and haulage company based in Wels . The company has 26 subsidiaries at 78 locations in 18 countries in Europe .
history
Franz Felbermayr founded a haulage company during the war in 1942 , which comprised four vehicles in the post-war period . The first construction machine was purchased before it was taken over by Horst and Gisela Felbermayr in 1967 . This was followed by the development of sustainable business areas such as gas pipeline construction.
After two companies were taken over, the second branch was opened in Grieskirchen in 1972 . In the following year, today's headquarters in Wels was built and moved into. In 1974, the establishment of its own heavy haulage department followed by gravel production .
In 1989 came the entry into crane rental , which was consolidated in 1993 with further company takeovers in this branch. The Welser Construction Material Recycling GmbH is founded. This was followed by further takeovers and the establishment of the Graz branch . By 1996, services were expanded to include water and rail, and in 1997 the first German branch was founded in Nuremberg .
From 1998 onwards, a large number of takeovers followed and the machine park was expanded to include rail transport, work platforms and special civil engineering . In 2000 the second German branch was founded in Verden .
In 2002 a 750 t lattice boom crawler crane of the type Liebherr LR 1750 was bought, which was expanded to a lifting capacity of 1000 t in the following years. In 2004 Horst Felbermayr jun. Took over the management . In the following year the number of work platforms available increased to more than 1000 devices. The entry into hydraulic engineering and other acquisitions throughout Europe will take place by 2006 . A branch in Liechtenstein was founded. In 2006 Horst and Gisela Felbermayr received the Silver Medal of Honor of the Province of Upper Austria from the Governor of the Province of Upper Austria, Josef Pühringer . In the same year a Liebherr LG 1750 was bought and transported to Austria. This was followed by the takeover of the Düsseldorf- based company Wirzius and expanding its range to include heavy assembly .
In June Felbermayr GmbH received the Austrian Pegasus business award in bronze. This was followed by the expansion of services in the field of pile driving technology .
In 2007 branches were established in Bulgaria and Romania . The building construction and pipeline construction business areas were then introduced. 2009, the company once again was awarded the Austrian business award Pegasus excellent. In the following year, subsidiaries and branches were established in Croatia , Serbia and Brno .
The Felbermayr GmbH was officially on October 1, 2010 following the Felbermayr Holding GmbH replaced and expanded the circle of directors. The Felbermayr GmbH continued to exist.
In March 2011, took place launching of the heavy load vessel Horst Felix and 2012 the acquisition of another company in the industry Waterways in Deggendorf .
In 2013 the National Society of Belgian Railways acquired H&S Container Line , Haeger & Schmidt International and a majority stake in the Belgian RKE . This means that the range of services on offer is expanded to include maritime services. In 2013, Felbermayr Holding expressed interest in a subsidiary of the insolvent construction company Alpine Holding . In the same year, the company announced that it would have to change its location, as the current headquarters in Wels did not meet the location factors for a new building. More than 600 people are currently employed at the headquarters in Wels .

Operational structure
The company is divided into the business areas Felbermayr Holding , Felbermayr Transport and Lifting Technology and Felbermayr Construction . The management of Felbermayr Holding consists of Gisela and Horst Felbermayr, since 2004 Horst Felbermayr jun. and since 2010 Alfred Feldbauer. The Felbermayr transport and lifting technology is additionally guided by Peter Stöttinger and Christoph Nüßler since 2007 by Wolfgang Schellerer and from 2010 onwards. The management of Felbermayr Bau GmbH & Co KG was founded in 2011 by Horst Felbermayr jun. handed over to Hannes-Sebastian Huber. Friedrich Rametsteiner has been commercial director since 2013 and Hielle Stefan has been technical director of Felbermayr Bau GmbH & Co. KG from April 2016.
The group of companies has 19 branches in Austria as well as 40 other locations in Germany and other European countries.
