Forst is part of the Gerhardshofen community in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The church village is located on the eastern bank of the Aisch . In the south is the Auf der Höhe corridor area . Forst is affected by the federal highway 470 , which leads to Gerhardshofen (0.7 km northeast) and Diespeck (5.5 km southwest). A community road leads to Vahlenmühle (0.8 km south).

history

The place was 1361/64 as "forest" in the castle Count Urbar first mentioned. The branch church of St. Katharina was built in the 14th century. In 1632, Forst was looted and sacked during the Thirty Years' War .

At the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Forst. The high court and the village and community rule exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach . The Principality of Bayreuth was the landlord of all properties (caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach: 1 half courtyard, 1 quarter courtyard, 2 eighth courtyards, 1 mill, 1 courtyard, 1 forge, 3 estates, 1 estate; monastery office Birkenfeld : 2 widem estates ).

As part of the community edict , Forst was assigned to the Dachsbach tax district formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the Gerhardshofen rural community .

Architectural monuments

• House No. 2: Evangelical Lutheran. Filial church of St. Catherine
• Barn at the eastern exit of the village, constructive framework. Between the barn doors there is a bas-relief with a horse-drawn vehicle and an inscription: Johan Kolb / SOLO (sic!) DEO GLORJA / 1826 .
