Francisco António Machado Mota Castro Trincão (born December 29, 1999 in Viana do Castelo ) is a Portuguese football player .
Career
society
Trincão started his career at SC Vianense . He played for FC Porto between 2009 and 2010 before returning to Vianense. In 2011 he joined the youth team at Sporting Braga . Between 2014 and 2015 he played briefly for Palmeiras FC .
In March 2016 he was against FC Penafiel for the first time in the squad of the B-team of Braga. He made his debut for this in the Segunda Liga in April 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Carlos Fortes on matchday 38 of the 2015/16 season against SC Freamunde in the 80th minute . In May 2017, he scored his first goal for Braga B in a 3-2 defeat against the B-team of FC Porto .
In August 2017 he was in the starting line-up for the first time against CD Santa Clara . For the 2018/19 season Trincão moved up to the squad of the first division team.
For the 2020/21 season Trincão moved to the Spanish Primera División for FC Barcelona for 31 million euros . He signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2025, which includes an exit clause of 500 million euros.
National team
Trincão played for a Portuguese youth national team for the first time in 2015. In September 2017 he made his debut against the Netherlands for the U-19 selection . In the game that ended 2-2, he scored the goal for Portugal's interim 1-0 lead.
With the U-19 selection, he took part in the European Championship in 2018 . With Portugal he won the tournament and became European champion. During the tournament, Trincão came in all five of his country's games, scoring five goals, including one in a 4-3 victory over Italy in the final . Together with Jota , he was the tournament's most successful goalscorer.
In 2018 he also played for the U-20 team for the first time .
