Frank Wood

Frank Wood (born February 10, 1960 in Lincoln , Massachusetts ) is an American actor . In 1999 he received the Tony Award .

Early years

Frank Wood was born as one of three children of the political scientist and former US building minister Robert Coldwell Wood (1923–2005) in Lincoln, in the US state of Massachusetts. There he grew up after his father's time in politics. His sister Maggie Hassan followed her father into politics and has been a Senator for the state of New Hampshire since 2017. Wood attended the Buxton School in Williamstown and made his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1984 , where his father taught himself for a while. He then obtained a Master of Fine Arts from New York University . His decision to become an actor was made early on.

Career

Frank Wood took on his first role in front of the camera in 1998 with a guest appearance on the series Law & Order . In 1999 he received the Tony Award for Best Actor for his role in the play Side Man . In 2006 he took part in the musical Spring Awakening . In 2008 he appeared in Tracy Lett's drama August: Osage County .
