The Gauliga Westfalen 1943/44 was the eleventh season of the Gauliga Westfalen in football. FC Schalke 04 secured the championship with eight points ahead of VfL Altenbögge . Schalke qualified for the final round of the German championship , where they were eliminated in the round of 16 after a 1: 2 defeat against the Duisburg war syndicate SpV / TuS 48/99 . Arminia and VfB 03 Bielefeld formed a war syndicate from the start of the season . From January 1944, VfL and SV Preußen 07 also formed such a war syndicate. In the 1944/45 season, the Gauliga was divided into three groups.
