The Gmina Łęczyce [wɛnˈt͡ʂɨt͡sɛ] is a rural municipality in the powiat Wejherowski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name ( German Lanz, Kreis Lauenburg / Pommern , Kashubian Łãczëce ) with about 1500 inhabitants. The community itself has over 12,000 inhabitants and an area of ​​232.8 km².

The community is located in Hinterpommern , in the valley of the Łeba (Leba) , which flows through the eponymous place, about ten kilometers northeast of Lębork (Lauenburg in Pomerania) and 25 kilometers west of Wejherowo (Neustadt in West Prussia) .

The municipal boundary in the south and east is almost the same as the German-Polish state border ( Polish Corridor ) between 1919 and 1939. The village of Bożepole Wielkie (Groß Boschpol) was the border crossing point to Poland. This line previously separated the two Prussian provinces of Pomerania and West Prussia .

Streets

Europastraße 28 ( DK 6 , formerly German Reichsstraße 2 ) runs through the municipality in a west-east direction from Stettin via Koszalin (Köslin) and Słupsk (Stolp) to Danzig and Pruszcz Gdański (Praust) . Smaller back roads and country roads connect the localities of the community.

rails

Parallel to DK 6 runs the PKP - one 202 (Danzig - Stargard ). The municipality has the train stations Godętowo (until 1945 Goddentow-Lanz ) and Bożepole Wielkie (Groß Boschpol) on this route.
