On February 20, 1819 he became the personal adjutant of General von Zieten, but remained in the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot. From the end of September 1819 to the end of March 1821 Strantz was assigned to the 1st Cuirassier Regiment . This was followed by a position as commander of the 1st Guard Landwehr Brigade from March 30, 1832, and in this position Strantz was promoted to major general on March 30, 1833. On March 30, 1838, he was transferred to the Neisse fortress as the first commandant. He died in Berlin on August 14, 1865 and was transferred three days later to Dyhernfurth (Wohlau district) for burial.

In his assessment in 1831, General von Block wrote : “A man of understanding and much intellectual agility, zealous and full of the best will to do good. The regiment he commands is in very good disciplinary order. I am not yet able to judge what level of military training it is. It is very advantageous because of its excellent economic facilities, a merit which is due in particular to the work and the appropriate arrangements of Colonel von Strantz. From November of last year until June of this year he had a very difficult command at the Silesian-Polish border, and, as I have heard, headed it to the satisfaction of his highest superiors. "

family

Strantz married on March 10, 1819 in Neustadt (Upper Silesia) Luise Dorothea Johanna Ebing (* May 10, 1787; † August 4, 1845). The marriage, which was divorced on May 22, 1832, had two children:
