Gutenpaaren is part of the municipality of Zachow , a district of the city of Ketzin / Havel in the Havelland district in Brandenburg . Until it was incorporated into Zachow in July 1950, Gutenpaaren was an independent community.

location

Gutenpaaren is located in the southern Havelland , about five kilometers west of Ketzin and 16 kilometers as the crow flies northeast of the city of Brandenburg an der Havel . Surrounding villages are the districts of Wachow and Niebede in the city of Nauen in the north, Zachow in the east and the villages of Schmergow and Deetz in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark in the municipality of Groß Kreutz (Havel) in the southeast and south, Roskow in the west and Päwesin in the northwest.

Gutenpaaren is on state road 92 to Ketzin. To the south of the village lies the Trebelsee , through which the Havel flows at this point . Good couples and the neighboring village of Zachow have now merged structurally.

history

The street village Gutenpaaren was first mentioned in 1170 under the name Parne . This makes Gutenpaaren one of the oldest settlements in Havelland. The place name comes from the Slavic and describes a settlement in a swampy area. In 1624 the place was mentioned as Good Parnimb and in 1805 as Good Couples . The name affix Guten refers to the good quality of the soil in the vicinity of the place and serves to differentiate it from the Potsdam part of the municipality Paaren , which was referred to as Quaden Parnimb , i.e. bad couples .

In the course of time, good couples developed into an estate village . In 1326 it came into the possession of the Brandenburg Cathedral Monastery , but was bought shortly afterwards by some brothers from Nauen. The new owners had a village church built in 1359 . The Gutenpaaren manor was probably owned by the von Broesigke family from the 15th century, and in 1767 the manor was bought by Count Peter von Golowkin . From 1804 the village belonged to the von Eckenbrecher family . In 1887, the villages of Zachow and Gutenpaaren were bought by a brickworks owner named Hornemann , who wanted to use it to exploit the clay deposits among the villages.

According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Potsdam and the city of Berlin from 1841, good couples had 239 inhabitants and 31 residential buildings that year. The church is a branch church of the Zachow village church. In 1886 Gutenpaaren was connected to the road network.

Good couples has always belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia and was formerly in the Havelländisches Kreis . From April 1, 1817, Gutenpaaren belonged to the newly formed Westhavelland district of the administrative district of Potsdam in the province of Brandenburg . After the Second World War, Gutenpaaren became part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . On July 1, 1950 Gutenpaaren was incorporated into the neighboring Zachow . During the territorial reform carried out in the GDR in July 1952, the community of Zachow with the district of Gutenpaaren was assigned to the Nauen district in the Potsdam district . After the reunification , the Nauen district was renamed the Nauen district and finally dissolved. During the district reform in December 1993 , good couples were assigned to the new Havelland district . On October 26, 2003, Zachow was incorporated into Ketzin and good couples became part of Ketzin.
